学术报告:Sustainable, Durable and Resilient Civil Infrastructures

报告摘要:Civil infrastructure assets are a nation’s lifeline and are vital for social and economic growth. Reinforced concrete (RC) is the most widely used modern construction materials in the world. This research presents a novel cost-effective lightweight composite as an alternative to conventional RC for infrastructure from a multi-scale perspective through a unique routine of materials-microstructure-property-performance. This composite integrates the low-carbon potential of industrial by-products and recycled tyre fibers, and the corrosion resistance of FRP bars, which can be employed to greatly improve sustainability, durability and resilience of concrete infrastructures.

主讲人简介:张明中,博士,英国伦敦大学学院(University College London)终身教职副教授、博士生导师,英国土木工程师协会、Rilem国际材料与结构研究实验联合会会员。主要研究方向:混凝土结构耐久性、纤维混凝土、结构用增强复合材料、多尺度模拟计算。张明中博士2013年毕业于荷兰代尔夫特大学,2013-2015年于英国曼彻斯特大学从事博士后研究工作,2015-2019年受聘UCL土木工程系讲师,20197月受聘UCL土木工程系副教授。独立主持英国EPSRC基金、英国皇家协会牛顿基金等项目,资助经费90余万英镑。发表Cement and Concrete Research、Cement and Concrete Composites、Composites Part B、Engineering StructuresSCI论文40余篇,被引800余次,同时担任行业内多本顶级期刊审稿人。
